Despite the many years it took to finally arrive, the developer has confirmed that Silksong was a massive success, selling over seven million copies worldwide, not including players accessing the game through Xbox Game Pass.
So, what does a team do after finally releasing one of the most anticipated games of the decade? They announce DLC. Team Cherry has confirmed the first expansion, Hollow Knight: Silksong – Sea of Sorrow, is already in development. Even better, players won’t have to wait years to experience it, as it will be released at an announced 2026 release date.
