Here's a nice little surprise for any Final Fantasy 7 fans out there: Square Enix has dropped a brand-new free demo that lets you check out the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 port of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade. Isn't that considerate of them?
I think the Nintendo Switch 2 has established itself as a bit of a powerhouse relative to its size at this point. Impressive ports like Cyberpunk 2077 and Assassin's Creed Shadows serve as proof, and have you seen how gorgeous Metroid Prime 4 looks? But if you still doubt the Switch 2 can handle Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, you can now see for yourself.
As far as free demos go, I have to say, this one is really quite substantial. This trial will take you through the game's opening and all the way through the Mako Reactor 1 bombing (which is actually the very first hands-on preview I got with the game many years ago). Even better, your save data will carry over so you can pick up where you left off when the game launches on January 22, 2026.
