Alternate art cards for the Pokémon Trading Card Game's next major set have appeared online ahead of their release next month. Ascended Heroes has set a 2026 release date, and already includes some desirable cards sure to fetch a high price.
Now, The Pokémon Company International has revealed a series of new alt art cards to be included in Ascended Heroes Mega ex Boxes, featuring alternate artwork of Mega Meganium ex, Mega Emboar ex, and Mega Feraligatr ex.
According to PokéBeach, which initially spotted the altered product page, this artwork is brand-new; it's totally different from any artwork that's been used in the Japanese equivalent of the Ascended Heroes set.
The three alt cards will each feature the final evolution of a Unova starter (coincidentally also used as starter Pokémon in Legends Z-A) in a Mega Evolution ex variant. The alternate art takes up the entire background of each card, rendering the three in bold colors and comic book-remniscient poses that fly off the page.
