LEGO Batman Map Size Compared To Arkham Knight Leaves Gamers Floored

Rumors of a massive map size for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight have fans of the series absolutely reeling. Having revealed a release date at last week's Game Awards, the next LEGO Batman game is targeting a May 29 launch — but it's already made a pretty big impression on the fan community.

Much of the discussion around Legacy of the Dark Knight has been centered on its map size, which has long since been rumored to be bigger than that of Batman: Arkham Knight (via LEGO Games News on X-formerly-Twitter). A more recent post by the same account confirms just how big it is: Tricorner Island in the next LEGO Batman game will be almost as big as Bleake Island was in Arkham Knight.

If the rumors are true, it sure looks like Legacy of the Dark Knight could have an open-world map that's significantly bigger than Batman: Arkham Knight's. Released in 2015, Arkham Knight wasn't the original open-world Batman game - that honor goes to its predecessor, Arkham City.

But being the last game in Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham series, and the one with the biggest map, Arkham Knight is still the gold standard...
