Fans anxiously anticipating The Elder Scrolls 6 got a surprisingly hopeful update on the game's progress this week, which left many fans feeling pretty good about the series' future. First announced in 2018, it's now been seven years since we've seen anew content from The Elder Scrolls 6, despite the occasional new-trailer rumor.

However, in a rarely optimistic update earlier this week, Bethesda director Todd Howard told Game Informer of TES 6, "It's progressing really well. The majority of the studio's on VI... it's a process. We all wish it went a little bit faster — or a lot faster — but it's a process that we want to get right."

It certainly sounds like it's full steam ahead on TES 6 at Bethesda. Although Howard says that there's some "overlap" between projects, TES 6 seems like its main focus.

That's some of the clearest communication we've gotten on TES 6 since its announcement. Even though Howard seems to imply it's still a way off, it's still comforting to hear that it's still in active development.
