Fallout 5 Timeline Placement Officially Confirmed

Fallout fans have been hoping against hope that a Fallout 5 announcement or update would be announced by Bethesda by the end of this year. On the heels of a disappointing Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition launch and no major Fallout news throughout the year, it appears Bethesda director Todd Howard may have provided a clear timeline on when the next game will take place.

According to Todd Howard in an interview with BBC, Fallout 5 will "be existing in a world where the stories and events of the show happened or are happening," meaning it could very well overlap and/or be beholden to the timeline and chain of events in the Fallout Amazon series.

In an interview largely focused on the newest season of Amazon's Fallout television series, Todd Howard has seemingly confirmed that Fallout 5 will take place alongside the events of the show. When asked if the show would have an impact on the game in any capacity, Howard stated very simply, "In short, yes," going on to note that the next game will align canonically with the television series.
