Nintendo Switch players will be able to play Among Us for free for a week.
It has been announced that Among Us will soon be free on the Nintendo Switch for a week. On Twitter, Nintendo announced that the game will be free on the console from July 21st to 27th. It was also announced that the game will be on sale during the trial period. From July 21st to August 1st, Among Us will be 30% off on the Nintendo eShop. The free trial period will be available only to those who are Nintendo Switch Online members through the Game Trial Program.
Last month a roadmap was released for Among Us, showing what gamers can look forward to from the title. On the way are new roles, including the Sherriff and the Doctor. There will also be a new mode called Hide and Seek, which seems to have one player search the map with the lights off and try to find the other players. The game is on the way for PlayStation, though a release date has not been given at this moment. Among Us will soon feature account linking between all of the platforms that the game is available on. It was also teased that a new map is currently in development for the game. There will also be new visors and colors for players to use to customize their crewmate.
Among Us first released in 2018. The game received a boom of popularity in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. It came as a surprise to the title's developer, Innersloth. So much so that the developer cancelled plans for an Among Us sequel, and instead worked on the original game, adding a wealth of new features to the game over the past year.
Among Us is available now for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, the Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.
