A new study commissioned by hardware company Logitech G points to an increasing number of adult gamers spending the holidays to dedicate time to gaming. The studies point to the trend of "gamecations" (a portmanteau of the words game and vacations) in the UK, with similar findings in Australia as well.
Surveys Data Results on the Gamecations Phenomenon
The data comes from the consolidation of multiple survey-based studies that were done with participants aged 18 to 45 in the past year. Each of them had over 1000 individuals answer the various questions about their habits.
Logitech counted on the expertise of companies from multiple countries to conduct the studies. The list includes Antenna (Australian studies in September 2025), Opinion Way (France studies in May 2025), and OnePoll (UK in December 2024 and May 2025). The latest population figures from Statista were also used for the proper analysis of the context.
According to these studies, about 55% of UK adult gamers have requested time off specifically in order to spend their time gaming at least once. The company estimates that this corresponds to roughly 14.1 million people.
