I've absolutely loaded up on free Steam games this year, possibly more than any other. It takes a lot to stand out on the platform with each increasing year, and making things free of charge really helps get the word out.
That's just what happened with this Devolver Digital game, which is now free to pick up directly on Steam. Given that it's a "limited-time festive holiday special," you may want to jump on it.
As you work your way through the current Steam winter sale, you can pick up MINOS: Home A-Labyrinth right now for free. Developed by Artificer as a spinoff of sorts of the maze-building rougelite Minos (due out in 2026), Home-A-Labyrinth parodies "everyone's favorite holiday film."
That film, of course, is Home Alone, as Home-A-Labyrinth features a vaguely Kevin McCallister protagonist squaring off against "burglars" in a house. The catch is that you're trying to kill said burglars, not hit them in the face with an iron and scare them off. Devolver, as usual, gets cheeky with it, noting that this is a "legally distinct seasonal homage."
Interestingly, this mashup works really well with what Minos is trying to...
