Shoppers looking to buy a Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle for Christmas may soon be out of luck, as an internal memo from a known retailer stated that Nintendo had discontinued the popular console bundle six months after launch. While the base Switch 2 console and the Pokemon Legends: Z-A bundle are still available, the Mario Kart World bundle will likely be hard to come by for a while.
As one of two purchase options for the Switch 2's June launch, the Mario Kart World bundle had an MSRP of $499, a $50 jump from the base Switch 2 console. Given that a standalone copy of Mario Kart World goes for $80, the popular bundle is a net savings of $30 when compared to buying the game and a $449 Switch 2 console separately. However, fans looking to secure a physical copy of Mario Kart World as part of the deal were often left disappointed. Switch 2 bundles sold in the US came packed with a scratch-off code voucher for Mario Kart World that had to be redeemed on the Nintendo eShop after setting up the new console.
