It's been an incredibly long time since Mystery Science Theater 3000 originally premiered, but the classic love letter to the B-movies of yesteryear is finally getting its very first tabletop game — and it looks fantastic.
A Kickstarter for the new project went live at the start of this month, and has since absolutely smashed its goal. At the time of writing, there are just 35 hours left, and an incredible $363,000 has been raised from a goal of $50,000. Of course, you know what that means: stretch goals.
With the game approaching the final leg of funding, the game's creator, Cryptozoic Entertainment, has officially confirmed a number of new stretch goals.
For those who might not be aware, here's a quick explanation on how the game actually works: Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Game supports up to eight players. One takes on the role of the Mad, while the others use Movie Moment cards as prompts for their riffs. Progress is determined by delivering the winning riff and moving further along the Scoreboard of Love.
