007 First Light is bringing James Bond back in a younger form, giving us a new window into the iconic character. Some folks thought that a March 2026 release date was a bit early for another 007 outing, and it turns out they were right all along.
Announced by IO Interactive on X, 007 First Light will now be released later in the year. Nothing else has changed; the team just needs a bit more time to smooth everything out.
While 007 First Light was originally slated for a March 27 release next year, it's now been moved back to May 27, 2026. This is a two-month delay, so it's not a massive move, as IO Interactive seems to need to apply some finishing touches. IO Interactive restates that this is their "most ambitious project to date," as the team has been "fully focused" on providing an authentic James Bond experience.
