007 First Light Gets a Slight Delay, Now Launches in May 2026

IO Interactive today announced a slight delay to their hotly anticipated game, 007 First Light, pushing the release date from March to May.

The Game Awards was a big moment for IO Interactive and 007 First Light. Not only did they announce a March 27, 2026 release, they also revealed that the game is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and that Lenny Kravitz would be playing the game's villain, Bawma. While the latter two nuggets of information are true, the release date is no longer accurate. That's because the developer and publisher today confirmed a slight delay of two months. Rather than releasing on March 27 as planned, the game will now launch on May 27, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Switch 2.

IO Interactive confirmed the delay via a statement posted on Bluesky:

According to IOI, the game is progressing smoothly and is playable from start to finish. The additional two months will be used to further polish and refine the game so that it has the best launch possible. You can read the full statement below:
