A new pair of green and purple Joy-Cons have just been announced for the Nintendo Switch 2. These new controllers mark the first official Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Cons to release following the handheld hybrid's launch last year.
The original and OLED models of the Nintendo Switch received a plethora of alternate Joy-Con variations in their lifetime, ranging from simple color swaps to full-blown makeovers that featured exclusive designs. While new official Joy-Cons would launch for the original Switch regularly, some of the most intricate controllers were released alongside major first-party Nintendo games like Pokemon, Mario, and The Legend of Zelda. These collector-focused Joy-Cons would often be made to look like something from the game's world, such as Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee's special edition Joy-Cons, which matched the colors of the titular creatures, and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom's OLED Joy-Cons which featured Zonai-inspired patterns.
