We still have yet to see a trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3, let alone the game itself. However, that doesn’t stop the speculation machine from debating which Final Fantasy game Square Enix should remake next. In an interview with GamerBraves, Final Fantasy VII Remake director Naoki Hamaguchi expressed his fondness for Final Fantasy VI. However, he said that he’d like to see someone else lead a Final Fantasy VI remake.
Hamaguchi did share that many fans tell him they want to see a remake of Final Fantasy VI. But since he’s led the remake of VII for about 10 years, he would want to see a new creator take over for VI. That said, he expressed willingness to help out in more of a support role should it arise.
Hamaguchi stressed that in remaking Final Fantasy VII, he didn’t consciously let any aspects of VI influence the game. However, he did note that his general love of VI likely comes through in the works he produces.
