Pokémon Meets Stardew Valley In This Gorgeous New Farming Sim

If you're nostalgic for older Pokémon games, and/or looking for something to dive into after playing Stardew Valley, then a new cozy RPG with farming sim elements is on the way. Called Monsterpatch, it looks like the Gen 1 Pokémon games injected with town-building, farming, and decorating mechanics. In other words, it sounds pretty awesome.

The Kickstarter campaign for Monsterpatch is live now and launched in 2025. If you're interested in supporting the game, there's some really cool rewards, which include a Steam key, art book, and cards that look like ones you'd find in the Pokémon TCG. And it looks like plenty of people are excited, since Monsterpatch has earned over $450,000 so far with only a $15,000 goal.

Monsterpatch doesn't shy away from its inspirations, but it does add plenty that Pokémon games don't. The trailer for Monsterpatch can be viewed above, and in it, we see the kinds of creatures, called MoNs, you'll be able to tame. Players take on the role of a wizard who befriends these magical creatures as they set off on an adventure.

Each town in Monsterpatch has a House (think Pokémon's elemental types) and an Archwizard (Gym Leaders, basically) to defeat....
