Gaming insider NateTheHate has shed some insight into why Baldur's Gate 3 will not be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in the future. According to the insider, the relationship between Baldur's Gate 3 developer Larian Studios and Wizards of the Coast may be a sticking point that prevents this port from ever happening.
On paper, the slow, turn-based gameplay of Baldur's Gate 3 is a great match for the Nintendo Switch 2. The critically acclaimed CRPG would be right at home on Nintendo's latest console, and open the game up to an audience who maybe have never tried it before. And with Nintendo's recent drive to bring third-party titles to the Switch 2, it has always felt like a distinct possibility. Any possible port would not arrive without concerns - Baldur's Gate 3 is notoriously heavy on performance during Act Three, which could make it tough on the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware. But beyond that one act, it isn't a particularly performance-heavy game, so if Larian could've solved those Act Three issues, it would feel as though one major barrier to Baldur's Gate 3 on Switch 2 had been solved. However, there's allegedly one issue that simply isn't going away....
