If there was one lesson that should be learned from 2025 on the gaming side of things, it’s that “You don’t need a big studio to make the game of your dreams.” Instead, you just need the right people around you to craft the title that you want to make. Numerous titles come to mind from 2025 that hammer that point home, and hopefully, that continues in 2026. One studio that was born from that mindset was CLOVERS, which is headed up by the legendary and infamous Hideki Kamiya. After losing faith in Platinum Games and what they were doing, he branched out on his own, and many came to his side to make this new studio.
They’ve quietly been working on multiple things, by their own admission, and one of them is the Okami sequel that was announced at The Game Awards back in 2024. We haven’t seen anything from the game since then, but that’s because they’ve been working hard on it.
