Sony Deletes Over 1,000 Games From The Same Developer On The PlayStation Store

Ever since the release of the now-defunct Steam Greenlight in 2012, I feel we've been on an unstoppable march towards the slop-ification of every storefront not completely micromanaged by its owner.

Steam Greenlight was a scheme that allowed the public to vote on which independent games they wanted to see on Steam. As the years progressed, the program became a haven for asset flipping and rife with voter manipulation.

This is extremely evident when taking one look at the PlayStation Store or Nintendo eStore, both of which are filled with low-effort asset flips. With the unfortunate introduction of generative artificial intelligence to the world, this problem has only been exacerbated. There appears to be a complete lack of willpower on the part of Sony and Nintendo to address this issue. In fact, Sony just promoted a Resident Evil rip-off called Ebola Village on its official YouTube channel.

However, one of these publishers may have flown too close to the sun as Sony has now deleted the "studio's" entire portfolio of over 1,000 games from the PlayStation Store (nice spot, Eurogamer).
