Recently, the rise of third-person viewpoints has been met with polarized reception from fans, including on Reddit. They don't want it in the game at all, and are even against it in the upcoming sequel.
Although Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't have a third-person mode by default, you can use mods to add the feature yourself. Some fans have been overjoyed by this mechanic, noting that it's great to see their V in real time while playing: "I want to see my character regardless if their male or female. I love seeing Arthur Morgan in third person for the same reason I want to see V in third person," says one user.
