PlayStation has officially opened up pre-orders on some pretty gorgeous new hardware, but I should warn you now that it certainly doesn't come cheap. If you're serious about picking up this latest bit of kit from Sony, you're going to have to open your wallet. Or, you know, sell a kidney/marry a rich older person in a plot to steal their inheritance. Whatever floats your boat.
As scary as this is, the PlayStation 5 is now deep into its fifth year. Given console lifespans are typically seven to eight years, it won't be long until the PlayStation 6 comes knocking, assuming it has the ability to knock. Sony has yet to confirm specific features.
