They say good things come to those who wait, but given it's been three years and counting, it's understandable that Assassin's Creed fans might be feeling a little impatient. Assassin's Creed: Codename Hexe was teased back in September 2022, and we've seen very little ever since. However, we might finally have a better idea of how long the wait will be.

With little more than proof of concept and some industry rumors, there's very little known about Assassin's Creed: Codename Hexe. Some theories suggest it will be a survival horror title, taking the franchise into bold new territory. With the narrative most likely revolving around the 'Salem Witch Trials' of the late 17th century, it'll almost certainly have some horror elements and mature themes.

Up until now, we've only seen a teaser and a logo, which, after all this time, isn't great. We've also just learned in the last few days that the lead scriptwriter has only just been hired. In a January 17 LinkedIn post, Christopher Grilli announced he had just joined the team for Assassin's Creed: Codename Hexe. This likely puts the timeline for a game release well into the future, far beyond 2026.
