"I Have No Regrets" Hytale Developer Issues Statement on the Game's Early Access Launch

After years of troubled development, the highly-anticipated Minecraft-inspired open-world RPG Hytale finally launched in early access on January 13, 2026, and developer Hypixel Studios' founder Simon Collins-Laflamme has "no regrets" about the "miracle" of saving Hytale and getting it to a state where it could be released to fans. Audiences first heard about Hytale when it was originally announced back in 2018, but technical and financial woes left the sandbox role-playing game in an uneasy state for many years. Having overcome those challenges and achieved an early access release, the team behind Hytale is locked in on adding more content and improvements to the game and is adamant about continuing to make Hytale the best that it can be.
