It would be easy to say that nobody cares about Bubsy, except he's somehow remained inexplicably popular over the years. Two games from the 16-bit era plus one on the Jaguar, a legendarily terrible 3D plaformer on PS1, a weird art exhibit indie title, and a couple of attempts at reviving the franchise in the last decade don't all happen without some level of interest. If all it took to get an endless array of second chances was a stale attitude that felt worn out when it was supposed to be cool, we'd be drowning in Awesome Possom and Wild Woody sequel. Somehow, despite all evidence to the contrary, Bubsy has that magical "it" that gets people to pay attention. While the first instinct to a new revival is to roll one's eyes and move on with life, this time, somehow and against all odds, is going to be different. This time Bubsy is actually worth looking forward to.
