Beast of Reincarnation Reveals Release Window & Pokemon-Inspired Gameplay

Pokémon developer Game Freak's Beast of Reincarnation debuted tons of new gameplay footage and an official release date at today's Xbox Developer Direct. Devs at Game Freak spoke of the gameplay, the setting, and their inspirations in an extended segment during the livestream.

Most importantly, Beast of Reincarnation revealed its release window at long last: summer 2026. It'll be available on Xbox, PC, and PlayStation, including as a day-one release through Game Pass and Xbox Play Anywhere.

Beast of Reincarnation made things official during the Xbox Developer Direct, announcing a summer 2026 release window alongside other major upcoming titles like Forza Horizon 6 and the Fable reboot. It was initially revealed in 2023 with a single piece of concept art under the working title Project Bloom, and debuted its first gameplay trailer at last year's Xbox Games Showcase.

Game Freak's first non-Pokémon game since 2019, Beast of Reincarnation is a collaboration with Fictions, formerly known as Private Division. The publisher has previously worked on The Outer Worlds, Hades, Tales of the Shire, and the Kerbal Space Program series.
