We're heading to Japan in Forza Horizon 6, with a newly unveiled release date and information on this long-awaited locale. Forza Horizon 6's setting was revealed a few months ago at the Tokyo Game Show, fitting for this installment's setting, but now we've gotten a deluge of new information courtesy of this year's Xbox Developer Direct.

Playground Games participated in the Xbox showcase and announced that Forza Horizon 6 will release on May 19, 2026, for Xbox and PC, with the PlayStation 5 version coming later in the year. FH6 was described as "the biggest Forza ever," taking place across "all of Japan." It includes the series' largest urban area ever, but also boasts a wide variety of weather and seasonal changes as you explore the island nation.

From the streets of Tokyo to bamboo forests, cherry blossom groves, and roads lined with 20 feet of snow, Forza Horizon 6 showcased a broad sampler of its setting. But the physical scale isn't all. The Xbox Dev Direct overview confirmed that more than 550 cars will be included in Forza Horizon 6 at launch, with more likely to follow.
