Coven of the Chicken Foot is much more Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker than The Last of Us, and its meaningful choice of art style is proof. In a shift away from the hyperrealism and graphical fidelity of The Last of Us or Uncharted, Coven of the Chicken Foot doesn’t seem to be at all leashed to Bruce Straley’s seminal Naughty Dog work.
As per GamesRadar+, it was of the utmost importance to Bruce Straley and Wildflower that Coven of the Chicken Foot’s art style would be timeless. Interestingly, though, Bruce Straley does reflect on how AAA games and their perceived relevance or timelessness contributed to Wildfire's choice of art style for Coven of the Chicken Foot, and Naughty Dog likely played a part in that.
