Starfield 2.0 Leaks Ahead Of Official Reveal

Rumor has it a major Starfield revamp could be coming soon, but Bethesda hasn't shown it to just anyone. Starfield's 2023 release was met with mixed reception: while many praised the scope of ambition of its open world, others critiqued its lackluster story and repetitive gameplay loop.

However, that could change soon, with the advent of a rumored Starfield version 2.0 update said to finally put all these criticisms to rest. During an episode of the Defining Duke podcast, host MrMattyPlays mentioned offhand that he's seen such an update in action, albeit "behind closed doors," and that Bethesda is keeping everything about it under wraps.

Speaking briefly on the potential existence of Starfield 2.0, host Matty says, "The way Bethesda is handling 2.0 is weird. Like, I saw it behind closed doors, you can't talk about it, you can't tell anyone you saw it, they didn't give us a release window or anything."

However, he quickly reaffirms that he's seen the update, suggesting Starfield 2.0 really does exist. He explains that this all happened a few months ago, though, and there's been no public news on the update since.
