Highguard Launches on Time a Month After The Game Awards Reveal Debacle

Despite a long silence following its negatively received reveal at The Game Awards 2025, Highguard has officially launched today.

The internet was not kind to Wildlight Entertainment's new IP back at The Game Awards. Taking up the final slot of the night and praised heavily by Geoff Keighley, Highguard's big debut didn't land very well, with many bemoaning yet another live service hero shooter. The trailer also failed to really showcase how Highguard actually played outside of shooting and hero abilities. The reveal was a letdown, and Wildlight Entertainment went into silent mode the entire month between reveal and launch.

Today is January 26 and Highguard has officially launched. Wildlight Entertainment came out today swinging with their launch, showcasing details about how Highguard plays, how matches are played, and what they have in store for the game post-launch.
