It's been a little over four years since Forza Horizon 5 first hit Xbox One, Xbox Series consoles and the PC, and in that time, it's been representative of many things in one game. It was the final Forza release on the Xbox One line of consoles and wound up being the first Forza game on a PlayStation console with its PS5 release.
On January 22, Microsoft had its developer direct showcase and it started off strong with our first extended look at Forza Horizon 6. This got a lot of buzz the second it was officially announced and shown as taking place in Japan -- a home of car culture and an area that hasn't gotten a lot of love in racing games in a while.
Outside of Tokyo Xtreme Racer's newest release, we've seen it represented briefly in games like The Crew Motorfest, but the tuner culture of the early '00s really was the last time it got a large showcase like this. The teams at Playground Games and Turn 10 aimed to showcase Japan's beauty while also keeping it fun to use as a gaming area.
