The Witcher 3 Free DLC Quest Blows Gamers Away

Fans of The Witcher 3 have discovered that an overlooked free DLC quest might actually be one of the best parts of the game. Since its 2015 release, The Witcher 3 has had two official DLCs: Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, both of which have garnered critical acclaim.

But perhaps the best Witcher 3 DLC is neither of those: according to SynthPotato on X (formerly Twitter), it might be the single quest added as part of the next-gen upgrade. This was first released in 2022, improving asset quality and other graphical effects for players on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. But, as a nice little bonus, it also includes what SynthPotato calls "one of the best quests in the game."

The Witcher 3's next-gen update quietly added a new sidequest line called "In the Eternal Fire's Shadow." At the time, t was widely known as the "Netflix quest," as it was intended to tie The Witcher 3 into the Netflix series, albeit indirectly.

The main incentive for completing the quest is the crafting recipe for the Forgotten Wolf School Gear, a set of armor resembling one Geralt wears in the streaming series. Many players...
