Xbox Achievements Are Getting A Massive Change

Xbox has long been the pioneer of achievements/trophies on console since they first rolled them out for the Xbox 360 back in 2005. However, a new update to Xbox will result in a huge change for achievements, but it might not exactly be the change that players have been waiting on.

According to a new preview of the Xbox Cloud Gaming dashboard, Xbox achievement pop-ups will be getting a complete visual overhaul for the first time in years (via True Achievements). The new look revamps the achievement pop-up design to be more modernized and sleek, and will display updated trophy icons for normal achievements and updated diamond icons for rare achievements.

Many fans have been asking for an Xbox achievement refresh for decades, primarily in the hopes that Xbox would roll out an equivalent to PlayStation's Platinum trophy, which is awarded typically for completing all other trophies for any given game. Xbox doesn't have this feature for completing all achievements or for earning a complete gamerscore on a game, and it's among the console's most highly requested features.
