Nintendo And AdHoc Blame Each Other For Dispatch Censorship On Switch

The Dispatch censorship drama for the Nintendo Switch 2 is a bit confusing. Not because there are plenty of other NSFW games on the eShop, but because it's unclear if it was Nintendo or developer AdHoc that made the decision to censor the game's raunchier scenes. Both parties have shared statements which appear to be blaming each other.

First it was AdHoc that blamed Nintendo's terms and conditions, saying that the devs had to work with Nintendo in order to ensure that Dispatch passed all the criteria to ensure a launch on the Switch. This meant censoring all nudity, sex scenes, and even some lines of dialogue. However, in a recent statement, it seems Nintendo has pointed back to the developer.

In a statement to GoNintendo, Nintendo said, "Nintendo requires all games on its platforms to receive ratings from independent organizations and to meet our established content and platform guidelines. While we inform partners when their titles don’t meet our guidelines, Nintendo does not make changes to partner content. We also do not discuss specific content or the criteria used in making these determinations."
