The US Department of Justice (DOJ) released over three million pages from the Jeffrey Epstein files on Friday, and within these new documents, an email was found revealing that Epstein was banned from Xbox Live in 2013 for "harassment, threats, and/or abuse of other players" that was "determined to be severe, repeated, and/or excessive".
"The conduct that caused this suspension may include but is not limited to:
Your conduct was brought to the attention of the Xbox Live Policy & Enforcement Team through either complaints filed by other Xbox Live users or in the course of our operation of the service," the email reads. "Because your conduct or conduct history is in violation, the Xbox Live Policy & Enforcement Team has enacted this suspension against your account."
Valve's crackdown on questionable games seems to be a little bit patchy.
As reported by The Verge senior editor Tom Warren, Epstein's permanent suspension was also linked to the New York Attorney General's partnership with Microsoft and other gaming companies in 2012 to ban registered sex offenders from online gaming services, which saw over 2,100 accounts closed as part of Operation: Game Over.
