Baldur's Gate 3 Just Got A Ton Of New Content Previously Cut From Game

Larian Studios is unlikely to restore any of Baldur's Gate 3's cut content, but luckily, the community is willing to go where Larian won't. After years of discussion surrounding the various bits and bobs that didn't make it into the final release, one modder has unleashed an ambitious project that adds a good chunk of abandoned material back into the game.

The new Early Access Scenes Restored mod from Nexus Mods creator HyperspaceTowel does exactly what it says on the tin, resurrecting "deleted scenes, encounters, and NPCs" that were present in the Early Access version of the game. This significantly enhances the reactivity of companions in Act 1, and it also features additional clean-up work from HyperspaceTowel to address errors in the original content.

Those who played the Early Access version of Baldur's Gate 3 will find some of the mod's inclusions familiar, like Gale's deer stew and the dwarf rogue Rurik. Other restorations come from the game files but never showed up in any official release, like the tiefling Nerela. Most of this material comes straight from game files, but there's also a bit of original creative effort from HyperspaceTowel and company to pull new cutscenes together....
