Exactly 20 years after it was first showcased to journalists in Las Vegas, Dead Rising's 2006 prototype build has been released to the public by series preservationist STiP0.

If you're a diehard Dead Rising fan like me, then you're no doubt aware of how much the game changed during its development. One of the most talked-about versions of the game is the 2006 prototype build that was playable for journalists in Las Vegas, which YouTuber STiP0 previously acquired in 2016 and has documented ever since.

Although the 2006 prototype build of Dead Rising is much more complete than the beta version from the game's reveal (which had a very different design for Frank West), it still has some drastic changes compared to the final build. Now, exactly 20 years after it was first playable, that pre-E3 build has been released for everyone to play.

Over the past month or so, STiP0 has been teasing something big for February 1, which most fans figured out was tied to the Las Vegas build, considering the specific date. Now that the day has finally come, STiP0 confirmed once and for all that it is related to that 2006...
