The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Borderlands 4 has had its development "paused", according to a Take-Two Interactive spokesperson. This comes amid an indefinite delay to the release, which was originally intended to be released a month after the global release of Borderlands 4 in October.
"We made the difficult decision to pause development on that SKU [product variant]," the spokesperson told Variety. "Our focus continues to be delivering quality post-launch content for players and the ongoing improvements to optimise the game."
"We're continuing to collaborate closely with our friends at Nintendo. We have 'PGA Tour 2K25' coming out, and 'WWE 2K26', and we're incredibly excited about bringing more of our titles to that platform in the future," they continued.
Last year's indefinite delay was preceded by the cancellation of pre-orders, which is always a fairly drastic step for a publisher to make when a game is intended to release eventually.
