According to a recent leak, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 will be multiplatform at launch, and the release date of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on Switch 2 will supposedly be announced on February 5. The news came after Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade launched on Switch 2 and Xbox Series X/S, nearly six years after the original PS4 launch of FF7 Remake. Although Final Fantasy 7 Remake was a console-exclusive title for PlayStation consoles, the new ports are part of Square Enix's ongoing strategy to bring its major IPs to different platforms. This shift is also retroactive to other major titles, as Final Fantasy 16 was ported to PC and Xbox Series X/S after its initial PS5 exclusivity window expired. Square Enix has since confirmed that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will eventually make its way to the Switch 2 and Xbox consoles.
