A new report claims the long-awaited PlayStation 5 version of Starfield will be released on April 7, 2026. As Xbox continues to bring more first-party titles to PlayStation, rumors that Starfield will make its way to PS5 have circulated online for months. Although neither Microsoft, Sony, nor Bethesda has ever commented on the controversial space RPG coming to PS5, a trusted source claims its release is just two months away.
As the first new universe from Bethesda in 25 years, hype and anticipation for Starfield were through the roof prior to its release in 2023. Unfortunately, the RPG was met with criticism and disappointment, as players felt as though it failed to live up to the hype. Critic reviews, on the other hand, were much more favorable. Starfield has an 83 score on Metacritic, as journalists praised the title as an "excellent RPG." Unfortunately, Bethesda fans didn't feel the same way. Three years on, Starfield reviews are still "mixed" on Steam, with fans blasting the limitations of the Creation Engine, the non-stop loading screens, lackluster exploration, and more. Things didn't improve with the Shattered Space DLC either, which has a "mostly negative" rating at the time...
