The Legend of Zelda officially turned 40 years old this month, and fans of the franchise have been waiting patiently (kind of) for an official announcement from Nintendo to celebrate the momentous occasion. Rumors of a possible major announcement have been circulating now that the anniversary date has passed without any real pomp or circumstance.
And while it might not be the huge remaster, remake, or new mainline game that fans are hoping for, Nintendo has finally acknowledged The Legend of Zelda's big 40th anniversary and are releasing a set of replica toy items featuring some of the most iconic weapons and armor in the franchise (via X).
The announcement comes from the Nintendo Japan official account on X, roughly translated as follows:
From Bandai, "The Legend of Zelda Weapon Collection" is now available. It is currently on sale at candy sections in stores nationwide. One of the 9 types of weapons, including the Master Sword, Hylian Shield, Great Eagle Bow, and Rock Breaker, is included.
