As unveiled at yesterday's State of Play, Project Windless is an open-world action RPG that aims to tell an original story within the fantasy universe, deliver intense combat, and introduce western audiences to this modern classic. Built with Unreal Engine 5, the game is currently aiming to release on PS5 and PC, though no release window has been provided.
The Hero King Rises
Project Windless is set approximately 1500 years before the events of the book series and puts players in the shoes of the Hero King, a legendary warrior of the Rekon race. The world of The Bird That Drinks Tears is inhabited by four intelligent races: Humans, Rekon, Nhaga, and Tokkebi. The Rekon are humanoid bird beings known for strength and ferocity, which explains why you're playing as a sword-wielding chicken.
