Marathon players reported that for a brief period during the Server Slam, typing "ARC Raiders" in the chat produced a string of # symbols, sparking censorship claims. The incident closely mirrors an earlier issue in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, though unlike Activision, Bungie has not commented on the cause and only used Marathon's Twitter to show the fix without explanation.

For those unfamiliar, in early October 2025, during the public beta of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, players reported that typing "ARC Raiders" in the chat returned a censored phrase of asterisks, while other game titles could be mentioned freely. Activision later said the restriction was unintentional and adjusted the filters to fix it. A comparable issue reportedly occurred on EA's app, where players couldn't mention Embark Studios' game, though EA also denied any intentional blocking and said it was resolved. Now, a very similar situation is unfolding in Bungie's Marathon, with the developer facing accusations of targeted censorship.
