It appears that Warner Brothers Discovery has officially signed the deal to be acquired by Paramount Skydance, marking a seismic shift in the entertainment industry writ large. The deal has massive implications for various beloved WB IPs, and a recent statement suggests that Lord of the Rings fans' prayers could finally be answered.

According to a statement from Warner Bros. Games CEO JB Perrette (via Geoff Keighley on X), developers will "return to some of our biggest franchises" in the coming years.
