According to a new report from Bloomberg, Bluepoint Games pitched a Bloodborne remake, but FromSoftware ultimately said no. Bloodborne is one of the highest-rated games of all time and widely considered one of the best games ever released for the PlayStation 4. Backward compatibility makes it playable on PS5 consoles, but otherwise, Bloodborne is effectively trapped on PS4, despite being a commercial and critical success.

With all kinds of PlayStation-published games making the jump to PlayStation 5 and other platforms over the years, there have been many calls for Bloodborne to get the same treatment. As one of the only FromSoftware games not on PC, PC gamers in particular have been asking for a Bloodborne port. PS5 gamers have been hoping to see a Bloodborne remaster, and rumors have circulated over the years that such a project has at least been considered. As it so happens, Bluepoint Games apparently pitched a Bloodborne remake of its own, only for it to get rejected by FromSoftware.
