Chrono Trigger is easily one of the most iconic JRPGs ever made, and is by far one of Square Enix's most popular games in the company's long history. Fans of the franchise have been wondering if, or rather when, they'll be getting an official remake or re-release, and while plans are still unclear, there's another exciting new Chrono Trigger release scheduled for April that you'll want on your radar.

Chrono Trigger fans are getting an official new release in April 2026 in the form of an anniversary edition vinyl LP box collection of the game's amazing original soundtrack (via Square Enix). The vinyl box set is absolutely massive, with four LPs totaling 64 different tracks, and beautiful artwork from the GOAT himself, Yasunori Mitsuda, the original illustrator behind Chrono Trigger's famous and distinctive art style.

It's hard to believe it's been over thirty years since Square Enix (aka Square at the time) first launched Chrono Trigger on Super Nintendo. It's often considered the greatest RPG of all time, and fans have been waiting with bated breath for an official announcement from Square Enix regarding a remake or even a re-release of the original for modern platforms.
