The Pokémon Winds & Waves reveal trailer is receiving a lot of positive reactions, but there's one classic complaint still splashing around in the community: There's still just too much water.

Of course, this comment isn't being made seriously—in a game called Pokémon Waves, some amount of water is admittedly a necessity. The two titles actually look like they'll expand exploration to beneath the waves, fully submerging players for a new look at the marine wildlife of the Pokémon world.

The fan reaction is instead a callback to an often-memed IGN review from 2014 that made a fateful remark still remembered to this day.

In 2014, an IGN review for Pokémon Alpha Sapphire rated the game 7.8/10. One of the cons listed for the title was the now-iconic comment: "Too much water."

The simple statement left such a long-lasting impact on the community, that the top comment on the official Pokémon YouTube channel upload of the trailer is: "The “too much water” guy from IGN just fell to his knees at my local Walmart." The comment, left by YouTube user fenvendead1391, has over 25K likes.
