“Game Of The Year Material” RPG Releases Next Week, Free Demo Available Now

A new RPG is coming to Steam next week, and it's already getting a lot of buzz as a potential Game of the Year candidate. Esoteric Ebb is a choice-heavy high fantasy RPG that takes a lot of inspiration from the endlessly lauded Disco Elysium, and has a free demo that will give you a significant taste of what it has to offer—and let you transfer your progress to the full game.

Esoteric Ebb's release date was recently revealed to be Tuesday, March 3, in a new trailer from publisher Raw Fury. It's developer Christoffer Bodegård's debut title, taking inspiration from the freedom that tabletop RPGs provide. The CRPG is in some ways an adaptation of Dungeons & Dragons fifth edition, using a D20 system for its skill checks. Its demo has been featured in Steam Next Fest, but has been available for a couple of years already. One comment under the trailer comes from a fan who has been following Esoteric Ebb's development: "Genuinely game of the year material. Can't wait to play the full game."
