Resident Evil Requiem has set a new franchise record, earning the highest user review score on Metacritic and surpassing the benchmark that was previously held by 2005's Resident Evil 4. The latest entry in Capcom's iconic horror series, Resident Evil Requiem, launched for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on February 27, and is already receiving rave reviews from both players and critics, largely due to its perfect blend of horror and action.

When it comes to the Resident Evil series, Capcom has been on a tremendous run in recent years. The developer returned the franchise to its roots with the launch of Resident Evil 7 in 2017, focusing more on survival horror, exploration, and puzzle-solving. In the years after, Capcom delivered numerous critically acclaimed remakes, including Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4. In between these remakes, the studio also shipped a brand-new installment in 2021, Resident Evil Village. Now the studio has returned with Resident Evil Requiem, the ninth mainline installment in the series, which perfectly blends survival horror and action thanks to the game's two playable protagonists, Leon and Grace.
