The announcement of Pokémon Winds & Waves as part of the franchise's 30th Anniversary celebrations was met with a lot of excitement, even though the leaks had already made it quite clear that's probably what we were getting.
Though we got a good look at the game as part of that, we don't actually know too much about it, in terms of finer details. We know that it will take place in a sprawling open world dominated by water, with plenty of different islands for the player to explore.
The starters were also confirmed, and most agreed that Browt, Pombon, and Gecqua were pretty adorable final designs for Game Freak to have settled on. Outside of that, we only really have what we can glean from leaks, and the footage we've seen so far, but there is one exciting potential avenue that could see a totally new type of Pokémon introduced to the game.
