The Legend of Zelda officially turns 40 years old this year, and with the anniversary date coming and going without any major announcements, players have been keeping their fingers crossed for a big reveal later in 2026. While Nintendo still hasn't announced anything major, the year is still young and fans are still hopeful.

Further, fans agree there's one Zelda project that Nintendo is sleeping on that would be absolutely massive as a 40th anniversary reveal, which is a The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons remake or remaster in the style of Link's Awakening or Echoes of Wisdom (via Reddit).
